measurement of surface tension of PLA for 3D printer using contact angle meter SL200K

 In this video, we show you surface tension of PLA for 3D printer. We used contact angle meter SL200K with high temperature chamber and high temperature syringe (max temp. about 450℃) to measure surface tension of melted PLA for 3D printer under temperature about 250-280℃ based on pendant drop method. And, we used ADSA-Realdrop method from CAST3.0 disigned by USA KINO to calculate surface tension of melted PLA for 3D printer. We found out that it is hard to form a shape of pendant drop under suggested melted temperature (about 190-220℃), and shape of melted PLA is hard to be controlled to form a drop shape. So, measured value of melted PLA for 3D printer (about 36-42mN/m) is just a reference for you, and we suggest you measure SFE for PLA, and then check out if measured value used melted PLA way is suitable.
